Miami Hurricanes Blow Away Football Equipment Room Storage
With five National Championships to their name, the University of Miami Hurricanes are a tour de force in college football. For years however, their football equipment room did not live up to the same prestige as their performance on the field. With storage space constantly a concern, Bobby Revilla, the head equipment manager decided it was time for a change. Working closely with the local Spacesaver representative, Revilla and his team designed an athletic storage solution that was tailored to fit their needs. “The Spacesaver systems were the best thing we’ve ever done,” said Revilla.
The storage solution featured two mechanical-assist mobile shelving systems designed to alleviate space constraints that had been a problem for so many years. With as many as 20 requests a day for athletic gear, the system had to be easily organized and managed. One system stores the team’s entire inventory of athletic shoes, as well as hanging storage for jerseys, jackets and cold weather gear. The second system provides secure storage for the team’s apparel. With everything having a place in the football equipment room, Revilla and his staff have no trouble locating and retrieving items and are given piece of mind knowing that the equipment can be secured. With the space saved by the athletic storage system, the Hurricanes were able to expand coaches’ offices, the weight room and locker rooms. Most importantly, they are able to focus on their football.
